“Don’t give us none of your aggravation…”-Elton John
Do you know people who always seem to heap their aggravation on you? These are the people who always have numerous reasons to complain about everything, yet nothing is ever their fault. It is as if they deliberately seek out reasons to be irritated, indignant and incensed.
We need to avoid these energy-sucking vampires at all costs. When we cannot avoid these people, we must be firm in not taking on their aggravation as our own. And sometimes we just have to point it out and let them know we will no longer tolerate it.
Typically, people will respond in one of two ways when we call their attention to it. If they did not realize what they were doing, sometimes a gentle reminder is just the jolt they need to wake up and eradicate their stinkin’ thinkin’. However, if aggravation is their default disposition, they will usually go elsewhere to find someone who will commiserate.
Either way, we win.
