Last week I spent some time visiting the Les Paul House of Sound exhibit at Discovery World Museum on Milwaukee’s beautiful lakefront.
The exhibit really drives home the enormity of Les Paul’s contributions. Between the invention of the solid body electric guitar and multi-track recording machines (the prototype of which is featured in Lester’s Mad Lab), the man was an absolute genius. Wandering around the House of Sound was a joyful history lesson.
A ton of cool stuff is on display, including photos, record albums, testimonials from fans and other music legends, Grammy awards and few dozen guitars in various stages of development. In addition, there were several reminders that Les was a brilliant guitar player.
To say I was in a state of awe would be an understatement.
If you get a chance, this exhibit is a must see for music lovers.
