Rock & Roll History: A Bunch of Cool Stuff
Submitted by Rock and Roll Guru Blog
A whole slew of cool stuff happened in rock & roll history on July 25th in the 1960’s.
1964: The Beatles’ album, A Hard Day’s Night, made it to #1 on the charts. This is a definite Desert Island Disc.
1965: Bob Dylan went electric at the Newport Folk Festival…and rock & roll has never been the same.
1966: Eric Clapton played guitar on the recording of George Harrison’s classic, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
1969: Neil Young appeared in concert for the first time with his pals David, Stephen and Graham, at the Fillmore East.
1969: Led Zeppelin appeared in my hometown of Milwaukee at the aptly-named Midwest Rock Festival. Blind Faith played the following day.
Led Zep, the Stones and The Who are just some of our favorites. Any modern bands come to mind? What are your thoughts? Register on Rock and Roll Blog now and get published within minutes. Before posting, it is recommended that you review our posting guidelines.
