Pretenders: After the Show…Part Two

Following the Pretenders show Wednesday night I had the good fortune of visiting with drummer extraordinaire Martin Chambers. Afterwards, I knew the band was getting ready to leave for Minneapolis, so I decided to hang out for just a little while longer. Good thing I did.
A few minutes later the rock & roll goddess herself, Chrissy Hynde, stepped out to sign autographs for a couple of diehard hangerson. It felt like universal forces conspired to create this opportunity, so while she graciously signed memorabilia for others, I told her about my next book (more on that tomorrow) and said it would be way cool if she would write the foreword.
To my absolute delight, Chrissy was receptive to the idea and told me to send it directly to her.
You don’t get what you don’t ask for in this life, so who knows…
No matter what happens, it’s all part of my rock and roll fantasy.
