As reported below, the wage register page from Liverpool City Hospital was auctioned in London on November 27, with the proceeds going to the Sunbeams Music Trust, who were sent the document in 1990 after Annie Mawson, the director and founder of Sunbeams wrote to Paul McCartney, asking for a donation for her organization.  The document fetched $177,000 - a bit short of the expected $500,000 - but Ms. Rigby made only 14 pounds sterling a year back in 1911,

For a woman who was allegedly fictional, Eleanor Rigby has become world-famous, and now has helped raise money for a worthy cause.  Paul McCartney has not commented on the auction so far.
