Delaney Bramlett 1939 - 2008

Submitted by MusicRamble Blog

Unfortunately we have to add another great musician and songwriter to the list of those we’ve lost this year. Delaney Bramlett died on December 27th after suffering ill health for months. Bramlett is best known for co-writing the hit song “Superstar” with his wife Bonnie (in 1969) and Leon Russell.
His band Delaney [...]

2008 - The Year In Review

Submitted by Bloggerhythms Blog
In my humble opinion 2008 was a lean year for music nor was it a great year for new artists. It was tough compiling a good list of my favorite CDs. It wasn’t either. Long time and reliable stalwarts issued the cream of the crop. So with reservations, and hope that 2009 [...]

Working On A Dream will be Bruce Springsteen’s 16th studio album.  Release date of January 27 is  timed a few days ahead of The Boss’s [...]

Kurt Cobain Guitar Sold

Submitted by MusicRamble Blog
A Fender Mustang guitar previously owned by Kurt Cobain has been sold to a private collector for $100,000. The sunburst guitar was smashed by Cobain during Nirvana’s first U.S. tour. and held together by duct tape. It’s believed to be a one-of-a-kind collector instrument because Kurt Cobain wrote on it during the [...]

Pollstar the Concert Hotwire

Submitted by MusicRamble Blog
The question was asked…where can you find a good RSS feed for concert information?
We’ve used Ticketmaster in the past to find out concert information, but ticketmaster.com doesn’t have an RSS feed. They’re still using the member subscriber method, which is too much work for me. I don’t want to browse for this [...]

Truth on Earth, A Review

Submitted by Layla’s Classic Rock Blog

I really, really wanted to give this CD a good review. The group consists of three teenage sisters. Each beautiful inside and out - and its their hearts that appealed to me because they are not your typical teen group. They follow Ghandi’s anti-violence views, they are sensitive to many [...]

Greg Lake - I Believe in Father Christmas (1975)

Submitted by Bloggerhythms Blog
Greg Lake, the guitarist and singer for early 70s prog-rockers Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, recorded his one and only hit single for Christmas 1975. The song, “I Believe in Father Christmas,” has always been one of my holiday favorites.
It’s true that “I Believe in Father Christmas” is as pretentious as prog-rock can [...]
